BUSA 25 mile time trial incorporating the 2003 Varsity match, Sat 17th May 2003
Photos can be found here
I hope everyone enjoyed the race yesterday as much as I did! Although it
was a shame not to beat Oxford (2-54:41) for the Men's Varsity, we should
be proud of the strength-in-depth to take the silver (Alex Higham, Rob
Driver and myself, 2-55:40) and bronze (John Barry, Michael Watt and Peter
Leek, 3-05:44) men's team medals. Alex Higham's 57:29 - a remarkable
personal best on a tough day - was CUCC's fastest ride, giving him the
bronze individual medal behind Andy Proffitt (Nottingham, 55:52) and Danny
Axford (Oxford, 56:52).
That's not to mention the women, though! Led by Rachel Horn (1-03:33), the
BUSA medals went to her and Emma Pooley (1-08:08), with additional Varsity
honours going to Mathilde Pauls (1-09:58). Their aggregate time of 3-21:39
beat Oxford by nearly 20 minutes.
