Rob's debut into track racing- August 2nd 2003

Rob Driver has been beginning to make his mark in the world of track cycling in the last few weeks, rather surprising some big names down at the Herne Hill stadium in London. At the SE divisional track championships a few weeks ago he managed a 3rd place in the 20km scratch race, just behind the likes of Bryan Taylor... And on Saturday, at another open track meet at Herne Hill, against a somewhat larger and stronger (Elite/1st cat) field, he managed to pull off a quite astounding 2nd place. Making a brave & well timed solo move off the front with about a km to go, only Taylor was strong enough to catch Rob just before the line, and he's 3rd in the Elite rankings... Official results to follow, and watch out for Rob in the National Track Championships later this month...
