CUCC's First and Second teams race on the road most weekends from the start of Winter Series racing in December through to the end of the season. From the club's point of view, the most important road race is the BUCS (British Universities and College Sport) Road Race Championships in May, held on a gruelling, hilly course near Loughborough. Last year CUCC took team bronze.

The club is involved in road racing at all levels. The team structure is, broadly, as follows:

1st Team - Most riders have at least three years of experience or more, and are nearly all E/1/2 category riders. Several members each year travel to Belgium over the summer, competing in Belgian Elite races.

2nd Team - Most riders are in their first or second year of road racing, and compete mainly in 2/3/4 category criteriums and road races.

Development Squad - This is for people new to road racing and who want to get into it. You will be taught how to ride in a large group and will be given information on how to race in terms of tactics/etiquette etc.
